When first the world demanded gourmands, I balked at blending bakery & bouquet. But as time passed, I asked, “How do you do sweet but not too sweet?” I have made a few forays, but this new one takes the cake. It’s my ideal balance of sweet, spice, flower, & vanilla resin.

Ain't That Sweet is built upon one of my favorite desserts – Date Cake. There used to be an Aussie shop a few doors down from DSD’s first store that sold the first DC I ever came across. What a balance of dark malty flavor, narcotic spice, & warm vanilla. The perfect sweet.

This is a perfume with a bold presence. An elegant perfume for late nights with your sweet. One that lingers like the memory of a sultry sweet. A date night fume for sure.

Olfactory Notes

Vanilla Absolute

Penetrating, powerful, old world elegance with a touch of smoke. Global warming, demand and weather have destroyed many of the crops of this particularly labor-intensive plant product, making it extremely expensive. Synthetic vanilla molecules (like vanillin) are just as important to perfume as the real stuff.

Date

A date accord is true-to-life with jammy treacle fruitiness. It's a perfect partner to rich vanilla and ambers.

Cinnamon

Comforting and familiar, fine qualities of cinnamon give a powerfully warm edge to spicy and woody perfumes.
